Founder – Lucy Odero Tiroch

Lucy Odero Tiroch is the founder of Fungua Roho Yako Ongea, a community empowerment initiative established in 2014 dedicated to supporting women, families, and children while promoting mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing. The organization was born from a deeply personal tragedy. After losing a close friend to suicide caused by severe depression, Lucy recognized how many people silently endure emotional struggles, poverty, family pressures, and life challenges without access to support systems or safe spaces to speak openly. Motivated by compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility, Lucy founded Fungua Roho Yako Ongea—meaning “Open Your Heart and Speak”—to create a platform where individuals can share their struggles, receive encouragement, and rebuild hope. The initiative focuses on empowering women and all Genders, families, promoting dialogue about mental health, and strengthening communities through support networks, education, and practical empowerment programs. Through her leadership, Lucy continues to advocate for dignity, resilience, and opportunity, helping vulnerable individuals transform challenges into pathways toward stability, confidence, and a better future.
